📝 About Game
Released on May 19, 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an acclaimed action role-playing game developed by CD Projekt Red, using their REDengine 3. You play as Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster slayer tasked with tracking down his adopted daughter, Ciri, who is pursued by the supernatural forces of the titular Wild Hunt. The game is set in a dark, mature fantasy world drawing heavily on Slavic mythology, filled with political turmoil, complex moral choices, and richly textured landscapes. Gameplay blends real-time sword combat with magical Signs, crafting, alchemy, and decision‑driven dialogue. Players navigate a massive open world filled with side quests—ranging from saving villages from monsters to investigating political conspiracies. Experience points and gold are gained from quests and combat, enabling upgrades to weapons, armor, and abilities. The branching narrative features multiple endings shaped by player decisions. Visually and narratively, the game expanded its world in two major expansions: Hearts of Stone (October 2015) and Blood and Wine (May 2016), both praised as some of the finest DLC in RPG history. A Game of the Year Edition was released in August 2016, bundling the base game and expansions. In December 2022, a free next-gen update (patch 4.00) introduced enhanced graphics (ray tracing, ULTRA+ settings, DLSS 3), photo mode, cross-progression, and UI improvements. Subsequent patches—4.01, 4.02, 4.03, and 4.04—improved stability, ray-tracing performance, and quest fixes through mid-2023. As of May 2025, the game has sold over 60 million units, making it one of the best‑selling video games ever. It has earned over 200 Game of the Year awards and is regularly cited as a landmark in modern RPG design for its storytelling, detailed world-building, and deep player agency.
